FAQ

What is a good running cadence, and why 180?

Most coaches recommend a cadence of 170–190; 180 is the widely cited sweet spot: quicker, shorter steps land closer to your center of gravity, reducing impact and injury risk. This tool adjusts music to 180 by default, or any cadence between 50 and 200.

How do I change a song to 180 cadence?

Import a song and the BPM is detected automatically. Pick a target cadence (180 by default) and a beat sound, click Adjust, and the tempo is changed to your cadence with beat drums overlaid. Multiple songs can be merged into one MP3 on the Export page.

Is my audio uploaded to a server?

No. BPM detection, tempo change, drum overlay and MP3 encoding all run locally in your browser — your songs never leave your device.

What is the difference between nearest and exact cadence?

Exact changes the tempo straight to the target. Nearest first shifts to the closest tempo that divides the cadence evenly (e.g. 52 → 60, 3 whole steps per beat) for a smaller speed change and better quality.
